Kenmore Scouts Family Camp 2020
Kenmore Scout group met at Allawah Scout Camp site on Friday 6th November for the annual Family
Camp. Over 50 adults and children attended with the tents spread around the parade ground.
Fortunately, the weather was good and all the planned activities could be held.
Children were allocated Camp Patrols and parents and leaders were stationed at five different bases
to assist the youth members having fun.
Photos below show some of the water activities which included building a raft with sail and paddling
it to show its “sea-worthiness”, canoeing along the river, and just having fun swimming in the rapids
a little further upstream. Bagheera did a great job at instructing the attendees in safe and enjoyable
canoeing while Bundy and Chil oversaw the raft making using the two surf boards from the shed.
Other activities included: games and archery, the latter run by Tyakunda District.
Under COVID restrictions, people used the kitchen safely with people wearing masks when
necessary and dispensing food using tongs etc. The necessarily simplified family dinner was a great
success!
We all departed about 1:30 on Sunday just before the clouds opened up.
